Do you qualify to receive $148.50 back in your Social Security check each month

See If You Qualify

Do you qualify to receive $148.50 back in your Social Security check each month?

In some cases, beneficiaries can obtain financial support to help pay their Part B monthly premium of $148.50. This assistance is available if you are eligible for one of the “Medicare Savings” Programs. To find out if you qualify, take this simple quiz:

Q1: Do you have Medicare Part A and Part B?
Q2: Are you currently paying for Medicare Part B ($148.50 per month)?
Q3: Do you make less than $1,456 per month (or $1,960 if married and living with your spouse). Remember to add $148.50 back to your income amount (your total income amount is based on the amount before the Part B premium is subtracted). Your total monthly income includes all sources of money you receive (i.e. pensions, part-time job, alimony payments, etc.).
Q4: Do your “liquid personal assets” add up to less than $7,860 (or $11,800 if married and living with your spouse)?

“Counted” liquid assets include (but not limited to):

Money in a savings or checking account
“Cash value” of a life insurance policy (the value will depend on what type of policy it is and how long you have paid on it)
Land you own (not including the land you live on)
Real Estate holdings (not including the home you live in)
Stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or money funds that can be quickly converted to cash
Burial plots (in some cases)
Automobiles (one vehicle is allowed)

If you answered “Yes” to each of the questions, you may qualify for this benefit.
